Your story is worth telling.

You don’t need to have been Mother Theresa. Or led the Battle of Trafalgar. Or floated a company for gazillions.

I work with thoughtful people to capture the experiences, people and ideas that have shaped their lives — from express memoirs and founder legacies to ethical wills and living obituaries.

Legacy and memoir writing, with a difference

This isn’t a blow-by-blow account of your life. We won’t open with the year you were born.

Instead, we’ll bottle up your wit, warmth and wisdom into something even your grandchildren will want to read. And you get the rare chance to reflect on what your life has meant to you.

It’s a celebration, not a slog. I’ll guide you through a focused, enjoyable process — led by a writer* with experience in business, comedy and storytelling. (*That’s still me.)

You talk, I write — and together we shape your story into something you’re proud to pass on and pleased to have told.

All you have to do is say: Let’s talk.

Meet Catherine

Once upon a time, I ran a marketing agency. I wrote words for business people with no time to read and led story-driven campaigns for some of the biggest tech companies in the world. (Yes, those ones.) I loved it, but what I love more is, well, life.

Life is raw, dull and comical — often all at once. I’m classically trained to write with humour and balance wit with sensitivity and sincerity.

I’m also a good editor, so I won’t let you sound dull. We want people to read to the end and feel more alive, not less.

I grew up in a dusty city in the Middle East that’s now a sprawling metropolis. (No, not that one.) The world I grew up in no longer exists — and I’m still young.

I also have two children who don’t listen to a word I say. Maybe stories from the real world — the one with trees and stray cats — will give them something to consider, when they’re ready to hear it.

This is my voice. I’ll write in yours — and make it tumble like a phosphorescent wave.

But enough about me, I want to hear about you.

What clients have written

SIMON FORD — ENTREPRENEUR

Imagine someone you love takes one idea from your book — and it changes their life? Catherine brings real skill to capturing my story. It comes alive on the page and is entertaining to read. Open, sensitive and easy to work with, she just gets it. At first, I was hesitant that it was an arrogant endeavour, but I didn’t need to be. The process — and the result — have given me and my family so much. I wouldn’t have a book without her. You’re in safe hands.

ARDAN FISHER — BAFTA-WINNING FILM EDITOR

Catherine made the whole process stimulating and fun, and the result is as good as anything I came across working for the BBC in its golden years. She is extremely good and was able to get inside my head and speak with my voice. If you want your life as a lasting story, of interest to future generations, look no further.

Why work with me

I blend heart and structure. Sensitive to your story and focused on keeping the project moving. Reflective and in flow.

It sounds like you — but better. The final book is readable, real and deeply you — with clarity, warmth and pace.

I balance sincerity with wit. Never dull. Never melodramatic. Just the right tone to make your story stick.

You’ll feel proud (and relieved). That thing you’ve been meaning to write? It’s done. And it’s better than you imagined.

Readers get it. The people who matter most will read your book — and love it.
